East Rock Auto Repair Inc

Matt and other folks are super courteous and efficient at both identifying the issue and solving it. Previous mechanics at a few other shops could not identify the lurching and cold start smoke issue, understandably given how sporadic it occurs and no error code from the onboard computer. We were suggested to invest in anywhere between opening the engine to flushing transmission to replacing sensors and spark plugs. We then brought the car to east rock auto, and they spend quite sometime to drive it around and reproduced the symptom. Turns out it’s the MFA that needs cleaning. And just like that, less than $300 including inspection, they fixed it like a charm and the symptom went away. The pricing seems very reasonable for the effort and quality of work, and I’m convinced that this is good value for long term.

I was recommended this shop by a friend to deal with my worn brakes. At first I was happy with the professionalism of everyone working here, they fixed my brakes and I drove off happy (although it was way more expensive than other place I previously went to). Then for the next few months they continued to send the most annoying mail in the world as advertisements and I quickly lost respect. Come 13 months later and one of the brake calipers that they installed seized 2 days before Thanksgiving. I gave them a call to get in but they didn’t have any space until close to a week after Thanksgiving. I was disappointed they couldn’t make the time for a failure from a component they installed less than 1 year and 1 month ago that’s meant to last 7-10 years. I had no option to go to another shop and get my caliper repaired (for nearly half the price as they charged) the day before Thanksgiving (it’s now been ~2 years from this other shop and my caliper still works as it should). I was offered no compensation from East Rock Auto for this failure and repair even thought the caliper they installed failed prematurely. I feel as if 2 stars is fitting for this shop for administrative reasons. Th

I first went here after my new car got broken into. I brought it to East Rock Auto Repair hoping that they would live up to their excellent Google reviews. They did a thorough evaluation of the car. They took photos and explained every service recommended in full detail before doing an excellent job on the repairs. I've gone back for all of my car maintenance since then and it's been a great experience every time. Great customer service and great work. Can't recommend enough.

East Rock Auto provides great customer service and has excellent auto mechanics. They always get us in ASAP, and their new system that texts you a link to the repair quote is fantastic. Simply “accept” or “decline” repair items, and the team gets right to work. I’m extremely satisfied.

I went in for a coolant leak, and they identified the coolant hose with leak and even sent me the picture. They fixed the leak and did suggest additional maintenance services but not force me to do anything which I didn’t need. My complaint is that after fixing the leak, they did not put the engine splash shield back.
